- Dance forever
Origin: Ireland; spin off of Eire go bragh meaning 'Ireland forever'
Hi, I'm me.
I was a gymnast. Almost all of my life, that was all I knew, until this moment in 6th grade when I saw Lord of the Dance, and magic happened. Since then, I have pursued Irish music and dance as avidly as possible, leading to my enrollment in Irish dance classes in the fall of 2007 at the age of 18.
I am an Irish dancer. I have successfully made it to the highest level of dance (open championships) a little over three years after my first dance classes. I have attended six Oireachtasi, two North American championships, and two world championships. This blog tells the story of my journey from a year after I started competing to the present.
I am a college graduate. I graduated from George Mason University in December of 2011 with a Bachelor's of Music in music education. Voice is my main instrument, but I'm also working on piano.
I am a teacher. The 2012-2013 school year was my first year as a general music teacher in my home county. I was teaching at three elementary schools, sharing my love of all things musical with tomorrow's leaders, but will be enjoying the '13-'14 school year and beyond at one school full-time!
